Jacob and I had a great morning fishing peacock bass on Oahu with @exit8bass Paul. It is a cool fishery about 30 minutes from Honolulu. We had never fished for peacock bass before so it was really fun. They pull hard and fight strong. Thanks for showing us your water, Paul.

Jill @cirque.wannabe always plans the best vacations. She is the Best! We traveled to Italy and Istanbul the last 2 weeks and had an incredible vacation. She books everything from airport transfers, flights, lodging, tours...everything. We very rarely have any travel hiccups and the trips are flawless. Anglers always ask me, "what does your wife do?" I always tell them she takes care of our boys while I fish and keeps the home going. Another talent of hers is planing the best vacations (sometimes 1 or 2 years out). Along vacation routes she always puts up with my desire to find out about anything fishing and even goes fishings with me. Happy Anniversary, Jill! I love you to the end of the rivers and back.

This my good friend, Haci Halil Erünali @halil_erunali. We met on the docks of Sitka in 2011. He was working and studying in Sitka that summer. We fished together and hung out. He even helped me build our house. He is from Batman, Turkey (about 20 hr drive from Istanbul or 2 hr flight). I contacted him in January when I knew we were coming to Istanbul. He invited us to his home in Batman to meet his family, but we didn't have enough time so he met us in Istanbul. He was an incredibly gracious host and tour guide. He picked us up from the airport (1 hr from the city center), showed us the sights, took us to great restaurants and food, helped us translate and introduced us to some of his family and friends from Turkey. It was so great to see him after 14 years. The hospitality he showed us in his country was unbelievable. Thank you, my friend! I hope I can return the favor someday in Sitka.

Jill and I booked a flying trip for the day in Florence, Italy with Fly Fishing Italy (www.Flyfishingitaly.com). We fished with guide, Stefano, @stefanoasirelli stefanoasirelli and had a great experience. There was a lot of rain the week prior to our trip so the rivers were too high to fish. We ended up going to a private lake about 30 minutes from the city center of Florence. We fished for rainbow trout and had a blast with Stefano. It was all wet fly fishing in the lake. Gianluca with Fly fishing Italy was great with setting up the trip and communicating before we got over to Europe. I would highly recommend this outfit. Additionally, Stefano, has a fly shop in San Piero a Sieve outside of Florence. We didn't have time to visit but we will when we come back to Tuscany.

Jill and I are having an absolute blast in Italy celebrating our 15th anniversary. We went to a great butcher shop and gelateria in Romein the Trastevere neighborhood. The porchetta sandwich was fabulous as well as cheeses, olives, pork jerky and jamon. We were recommended to go here from @anniereplogle thanks for the tip.
